RESUMO

O trabalho analisa interseções viárias urbanas de Cianorte (PR), relacionando o tipo de interseção ao volume de tráfego. O aumento de veículos e a necessidade de melhorar o fluxo e a segurança motivaram o estudo. Foram avaliadas quinze interseções em avenidas de alto fluxo, incluindo rotatórias, cruzamentos em "X" e semaforizados. A coleta de dados ocorreu in loco, durante horários de pico, registrando o volume de veículos em cada local. Os resultados mostraram que cruzamentos semaforizados suportam maiores volumes de tráfego, enquanto os cruzamentos em "X" registraram os menores fluxos. Rotatórias apresentaram volumes intermediários, sendo indicadas para tráfego elevado quando bem projetadas. O estudo propõe semaforização em cruzamentos de maior demanda e ajustes geométricos em rotatórias congestionadas. As intervenções visam melhorar a fluidez do trânsito e reduzir acidentes, oferecendo recomendações práticas para adequar a infraestrutura viária às demandas locais.

ABSTRACT

The study examines urban intersections in Cianorte (PR), focusing on the relationship between intersection types and traffic volumes. The rising number of vehicles and the need to enhance traffic flow and safety inspired the research. Fifteen intersections on high-traffic avenues were analyzed, including roundabouts, cross intersections, and signalized junctions. Data collection took place on-site during peak hours, recording vehicle volumes at each location. The results revealed that signalized intersections handle higher traffic volumes, while cross intersections recorded the lowest flows. Roundabouts showed intermediate volumes and proved effective for heavy traffic when properly designed. The study suggests implementing traffic signals at high-demand intersections and making geometric adjustments to congested roundabouts. These interventions aim to improve traffic flow and reduce accidents, offering practical recommendations to adapt road infrastructure to local needs.
