AVALIAÇÃO DE ESPAÇOS PARA PEDESTRES QUANTO AO NÍVEL DE ACESSIBILIDADE: ESTUDO DE CASO EM CRUZEIRO DO OESTE, PARANÁ

Promover a acessibilidade em espaços públicos é essencial para que a população possa se locomover de modo seguro e confortável. Nesse sentido, a avaliação de espaços caminháveis segundo o nível de atendimento aos critérios técnicos normatizados relativos à acessibilidade, mostra-se relevante para atestar, ou não, a adequação desses locais ao usuário. Assim, este estudo objetivou avaliar espaços caminháveis da cidade de Cruzeiro do Oeste, Paraná, quanto ao nível de acessibilidade fornecido. Para isso, aplicou-se o índice AWS, baseado em parâmetros técnicos de acessibilidade definidos pela ABNT. A aplicação da ferramenta é realizada por meio de auditoria, segundo um sistema de escores. Os resultados permitiram formular medidas gerais de intervenção. Após avaliar 66 trechos, o índice final indicou que 4 deles (f = 6,06%) apresentaram condição de plena acessibilidade. Os demais (n = 55; f = 83,3%) apresentaram condições de Restrição da Acessibilidade. Não houve quadra considerada inacessível. A partir dos dados levantados, foram sugeridas ações de melhoria do espaço, como a manutenção ou substituição de calçamentos inadequados (irregulares, trepidantes, escorregadios etc.). Destaca-se que a ferramenta se mostrou adequada ao propósito a que se destina, visto que permitiu identificar problemas pontuais e, também, mostrar a situação geral da acessibilidade no local avaliado.

ABSTRACT

Promoting accessibility in public spaces is essential for the population to be able to move around in a safe and comfortable way. In this sense, the evaluation of walkable spaces, according to the level of compliance with the standardized technical criteria related to accessibility, is relevant to attest, or not, the suitability of these places for the user. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate walkable spaces in the city of Cruzeiro do Oeste, Paraná, Brazil, regarding the level of accessibility provided. For this, the AWS index was applied, based on technical parameters of accessibility defined by ABNT. The application of the tool is carried out by means of an audit, according to a scoring system. The results allowed the formulation of general intervention measures. After evaluating 66 stretches, the final index indicated that 4 of them (f = 6.06%) were fully accessible. The others (n = 55; f = 83.3%) presented conditions of Restricted Accessibility. There was no court considered inaccessible. Based on the data collected, actions to improve the space were suggested, such as the maintenance or replacement of inadequate pavements (irregular, shaky, slippery, etc.). It is noteworthy that the tool proved to be adequate for the purpose for which it was intended, since it allowed identifying specific problems and also showing the general situation of accessibility in the evaluated location.
