RESUMO

As transformações recentes na produção de café no Paraná revelam mudanças significativas na dinâmica agrícola regional. Este estudo analisa a estrutura produtiva da cafeicultura entre 2017 e 2024, com ênfase no município de Cianorte, utilizando o modelo shift-share para decompor os efeitos área, rendimento e localização geográfica. Os resultados indicam retração da produção nas mesorregiões Norte Pioneiro e Noroeste Paranaense, associada à redução da área cultivada e à queda de produtividade. Em sentido oposto, o Município de Cianorte apresentou comportamento ascendente, com estabilidade de área e ganhos de rendimento, impulsionados por fatores tecnológicos, práticas de manejo e condições edafoclimáticas favoráveis à cultura. O modelo evidenciou que a competitividade da cafeicultura paranaense depende cada vez mais da eficiência produtiva do que da expansão territorial. Conclui-se que Cianorte se consolidou como um polo emergente de modernização e resiliência produtiva, destacando-se em meio ao declínio observado nas demais regiões do estado.

ABSTRACT

Recent transformations in coffee production in Paraná reveal significant changes in the region’s agricultural dynamics. This study analyzes the productive structure of coffee cultivation between 2017 and 2024, with emphasis on the municipality of Cianorte, using the shift-share model to decompose the effects of area, yield, and geographic location. The results indicate a decline in production in the North Pioneer and Northwest mesoregions, associated with a reduction in cultivated area and lower productivity levels. In contrast, the municipality of Cianorte showed an upward trend, with area stability and yield gains driven by technological factors, management practices, and favorable edaphoclimatic conditions for coffee cultivation. The model demonstrated that the competitiveness of Paraná’s coffee sector increasingly depends on productive efficiency rather than territorial expansion. It is concluded that Cianorte has consolidated itself as an emerging hub of modernization and productive resilience, standing out amid the decline observed in other regions of the state.
