RESUMO

O presente trabalho investiga o papel da moda adaptativa, com o objetivo geral de desenvolver uma coleção de moda funcional capaz de promover o conforto, autonomia e autoestima a mulheres com diabetes tipo 1 que utilizam bombas de insulina, por meio do design de vestuário. A pesquisa tem como fundamento o reconhecimento da escassez de vestuário funcional no mercado que atenda às demandas ergonômicas e estéticas dessas mulheres, limitando sua, expressão pessoal, conforto e segurança. A metodologia, qualitativa e quantitativa, se baseou na revisão bibliográfica sobre moda adaptativa, aspectos quanto à personalidade e ergonomia neste contexto, bem como os efeitos psicossociais da doença, ademais o levantamento empírico fundamentado na Cultura Visual. Essa abordagem permitiu o acesso e compreensão do públicoalvo a partir da observação e análise das imagens e performances realizadas por comunidades de usuárias de bomba de insulina nas redes sociais, especialmente no TikTok e Instagram, manifestando as estratégias de adaptação indumentária e as reflexões de autoimagem correlatadas a doença e o tratamento. As análises salientaram sentimentos de vulnerabilidade e fragilidade estética, reforçando a necessidade de uma moda inclusiva e empática. Como resultado projeto culmina na criação da coleção Mell de vestidos de moda festa funcionais que conciliam sofisticação e ergonomia. As modelagens abrangem recursos como recortes estratégicos, cintos internos, pregas estruturadas, forros reforçados e recortes estratégicos para o armazenamento e fixação da bomba de insulina. As escolhas dos designs foram orientadas as margens de tendencias de Evening wear contemporâneo, privilegiando tecidos leves, fluidez e elegância natural, em cartela de cores inspirada nas flores tropicais brasileiras em consonância ao caráter médico instaurado, simbolizando vitalidade e feminilidade. A partir da interpretação da moda enquanto ferramenta de identidade e resistência, o trabalho ressalta a importância de um design de moda inclusivo, que dialogue com as especificidades dos corpos e contextos contemporâneos, ao unir funcionalidade, estética e tecnologia, promovendo bem-estar, pertencimento, empoderamento feminino desta maneira, o projeto reafirma o potencial da moda adaptativa como campo de inovação e sensibilidade social.

ABSTRACT

This study investigates the role of adaptative fashion, with the overall goal of developing a functional fashion collection capable of promoting comfort, autonomy, and self- esteem in women with type 1 diabetes who use insulin pumps, through clothing design. The research is based on the recognition of the scarcity of functional clothing on the market that meets the ergonomic and aesthetic demands of these women, limiting their personal expression, comfort, and safety. The methodology, both qualitative and quantitative, was based on a literature review on adaptive fashion, aspects related to personality and ergonomics in this context, as well as the psychosocial effects of the disease, in addition to empirical research grounded in Visual Culture. This approach allowed access to and understanding of the target audience through observation and analysis of images and performance by communities of insulin pump users on social media, especially TikTok and Instagram, revealing clothing adaptation strategies and self-image reflections correlated with the disease and its treatment. The analyses highlighted feelings of vulnerability and aesthetic fragility, reinforcing the need for inclusive and empathetic fashion. As result, the project culminates in the creation of the Mell collection of functional evening dresses that combine sophistication and ergonomics. The designs incorporate features such as strategic cutouts, internal belts, structure pleats, reinforced linings, and strategic cutouts for storing and securing an insulin pump. The design choices were guided by contemporary evening wear trends, favoring lightweight fabrics, fluidity, and natural elegance, in a color palette inspired by Brazilian tropical flowers, in keeping with the established medical character, symbolizing vitality and femininity. Based on the interpretation of fashion as a tool for identity and resistance, the work emphasizes the importance of inclusive fashion design that engages with the specificities of contemporary bodies and contexts, uniting functionality, aesthetics, and technology, promoting well-being, belonging, and female empowerment. In this way, the project reaffirms the potential of adaptive fashion as a field of innovation and social sensitivity.
